McCain email

It's 9:47pm, and I just got back from bowling. I got a McCain/Palin email in my Inbox, asking for money so they can counter the "shameful attacks" from the Obama/Biden campaign. I was surprised to see them cite FactCheck.org. Here's part of the email.

Friends,

You've surely seen the shameful attacks Senator Obama and his liberal allies have launched against our vice presidential nominee, Governor Sarah Palin.

Even before our national convention, the Obama campaign dispatched what The Wall Street Journal called a "mini-army of 30 lawyers, investigators and opposition researchers" to Alaska to dig up dirt for their personal attacks on Governor Palin and her family. FactCheck.org has called the attacks on Governor Palin, "completely false" and "misleading." However, the Obama Democrats continue to launch these attacks, hoping you'll never find out the truth. [My emphasis]

So, being the guy I am, I wander over to FactCheck.org.

FactCheck.org's top story says:

McCain-Palin Distorts Our Finding

The subtitle says, "Those attacks on Palin we debunked didn't come from Obama."

Almost all of the stories are corrections of McCain campaign lies. The story with Obama's picture is a correction of a McCain ad which is "simply false." John McCain guessed you wouldn't go to FactCheck.org, "hoping you'll never find out the truth."

So they're trying to trick me out of my money because they think I'm too stupid and lazy to Google FactCheck.org? McCain, you are the scum of the Earth. You're down there with the Nigerian princes trying to get my help with their bank accounts.

I don't like being lied to, and I don't like being treated like a simpleton.
